Due to excessive spam from turkish IP ranges (especially istanbul), my website was getting outrageous amounts of hits to the high-cpu using PHP pages. I noticed the CPU usage rise today and sure enough, my host disabled my website.

The good news is: They disabled it by simplying deny'ing all access to konptracker.com (Thankfully) instead of simply dropping my account. Cheers to them, I really do like this host. I was notified and they told me to get it under wraps, I consider it a "warning", but they did not say it was one.

The bad news is: The site will remain down until I can deal with these turkish spammers. The database will still be updated daily, and sigs will more than likely reflect the change, but the actual website interface will not be accessible until the problem is addressed. This may be days or weeks, maybe even a month. The fact of the matter is, my website was not designed to scale, and it has gotten so large it is now becoming a burden on the system. I figure now is a good of time as any, since K2's ranking page is also down, so nothing is changing anyway.

Heres the plan: Either I ride it through and simply replace the PHP with a quick Ruby on Rails development version (which is being worked on now), or... I dont really have a plan B.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Unfortunately it comes at a time critical in my life, and I cannot devote much to the problem at hand. Since I am a one-man-team, there is only so much I can do in a day, so your patience is my virtue .



... On the other hand, the website is a resource, and I get nothing from it. It's not like you'll die without it! Hope to get it back up soon guys/gals. KO4Life.
